Katie Stotter

Strategy Lead

What do you do at &us?

Figuring out valuable problems worth solving, making complex things simple, fighting for good ideas, and making them happen.

What do you care about most in your work?

I love figuring out problems, and in this kind of work, that’s what I do! The more variety the better.

The thinking needs to be good, and it needs to lead to action. I think we have a duty to make sure teams are able to own the work and take it forward once our time together is finished.

I like getting started quickly, and trusting that if you put a handful of smart people in a room with some light rules, we’ll figure it out.

What did you do prior to &us?

I’ve done a little bit of a lot of things! I started out working in the music industry doing marketing strategy and consumer insight, spent some time at digital agencies, and as a freelancer working on strategy for SMEs too. Recently I was appointed as a voluntary trustee on the board of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Over the last 13 years, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked across more sectors than I can keep track of – entertainment, publishing, charity, Government, automotive, telco, legal, housing, healthcare, membership orgs, police, EU bodies, recruitment, education…all to make new products and services, and help organisations to embrace change, innovate and get creative.

What you might not know about me…

Dancing (swing), drawing (cartoons), music, reading, climbing… I’m happy if I’m doing something creative or social and active.
